Named after one of the  WWII Maunsell sea forts in the  Thames estuary. On of these is called the Principality of Sealand.
The Maunsell forts are antiaircraft  gun platforms One of them has a degree of occupancy  and as its in international waters has been claimed as " Sealand"
Photographs of the forts show a high degree of metal fatigue and although their construction method can not be seen in detail this wall hung sculpture captures the essence of that engineering.
